The South Eastern Cancer Foundation was set up as a charity in 1999 by doctors and nurses from the oncology department of Waterford Regional Hospital. It was originally established as a support service for cancer patients. It was launched in just one room in Lismore Park in 2001 to offer listening, counselling and relaxation therapies to cancer patients from the South East.
